PSP-3000 Custom Firmware the EASY way

Here in Toomuchfew.info, we’ll try to make tutorials even totally newbies can understand. Custom Firmware Enabler and PSP-3000 Slim & Brite are one of the hottest topic in gaming as of the moment. There are lot’s of tutorials and how to’s available on the internet but I’ll show my tutorials as how I made it work on PSP-3000.

  1. Turn on your PSP and verify your firmware version (System Settings)
    1. If you have version lower than 5.03 proceed to Step 2
    2. if you have 5.03 version Skip Step 2 and Step 6
  2. Download and Update your PSP Version to 5.03
    1. Official Firwmare 5.03 Download
    2. Connect your PSP to your PC via USB Connection
    3. Extract and Copy the EBOOT.PBP to your PSP Memory Stick. ( x:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\ )
  3. Download ChickHENR2
    1. ChickHEN R2 Download
    2. Extract file anywhere on your computer
    3. Copy h.bin to your PSP Memory stick ( x:\ )
    4. Open SLIM folder where you extracted the file
    5. Copy ChickHEN Folder to your PSP Memory stick ( x:\PSP\PHOTO )
  4. Download Custom Firmware Enabler 3.20
    1. Custom Firmware Enabler 3.20 Download
    2. Extract file anywhere on your computer
    3. Copy the PSP Folder to your PSP Memory stick ( x:\ )
    4. Verify if you have now folder x:\PSP\GAME\CFWEnabler
  5. Disconnect your PSP from your PC
  6. On your PSP, got GAMES and Select UPDATE to update your PSP Version to 5.03. Wait for a couple of minutes and just follow the steps shown on the screen.
  7. Verify if you have now PSP Version 5.03
  8. Go to PHOTOS >> ChickHEN and scroll down to slim.tiff your PSP screen should look distorted and will restart on its own. (no need to open / select slim.tiff)
  9. Go to GAMES then choose / run CFEnabler
  10. Choose START to make your PSP ready to run hombrew,  ISO / CSO Downloaded games

Notes:
You need to have UMD loaded in order to start playing Downloaded games without additional configuration. If you don’t have UMD, you need to run again CFEnabler and configure to Sony NP9660 – No UMD

If you turn off your PSP you need to repeat steps 8 and 9 in order to play homebrew, ISO / CSO Downloaded games
