BackUpWordPress is a Backup & Recovery Suite for your WordPress website. This Plugin allows you to backup database tables as well as files and comes with a rich set of options.

I’ve been using this for more than 2 months now and luckily I haven’t got the chance to use it (that means my site have not failed yet)
Features of BackUpWordpress:
EasyMode
- Switch between EasyMode and AdvancedMode
- Database backup as well as directory structure including uploaded files, plugins, etc.
- Set up Mail notofication on new backups
- Trigger backup manually
- Set basic schedules for your backups
- restore backups
- staggered SQL import when restoring
- automatically continue unfinished backups in background
- download backups
- Help page
- Language Support for english and german(deutsch)
more option in AdvancedMode
- Set and manage custom schedules * Check disk space
- View backup Logs
- Delete backups manually
- Manage backup presets
- Manage exclude-lists for use with these presets
My Review:
Although the features are quite impressive and the schedule backups are working properly I was not able to restore any of the backups (SQL only) when I was trying it on other server in case my current web host provider will not renew their hosting service next year. I haven’t tried to restore Full backup yet since it’s file size is more than 200MB and my alternative free host only support 5MB max file size upload. BackUpWordpress support / project seems to be dead and I already disabled the plugin since it’s not have any uses if I can’t restore the backup. I hope I can find another Backup tool plugin for wordpress. I still backup my Wordpress Database using my Host’s Cpanel.

/backup/ folder cannot be deleted if you’re going to format your site/blog root folder.. crazy!

deactivate first BackUpWordpress plugin then delete the folder from your web host Cpanel and not in FTP Client software.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the reply! I did it already, deleting /backup/ folder from my host server by clicking on Cleanup / Reload Account (000webhost.com). Cool eh?
Anyway, what’s your free host service provider? I thought you were using 000webhost.com. I haven’t tried uploading the full backup contents made by Backup WordPress, but I would suggest you that you only upload first the important files such as the fresh WordPress folders/subfolder without other plugins/themes except for the default one. Then you move on the rest.
